Specialist in RCM Examinations and Jazz Auditions
Isaac is an accomplished pianist and educator with a rich background in classical and jazz music. His versatility as both a performer and teacher makes him an inspiring mentor for students of all levels and musical interests.
A native of Ontario, Canada, Isaac began his classical training at the age of seven. By 2011, he showcased his talent on a competitive stage, placing third in the Ontario Music Festivals Association. The following year, he achieved his Level 10 Piano with first-class honours from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) in Toronto, marking a significant milestone in his early musical development.
During high school, Isaac discovered a deep passion for jazz, which led him to pursue advanced studies at the Schulich School of Music in Montreal. Training under distinguished musicians such as Josh Rager and Jeff Johnston, he refined his craft and graduated from McGill University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Piano. Since then, Isaac has been working as both a professional musician and a dedicated teacher in Montreal.
Isaac’s teaching approach is uniquely tailored to each student’s goals, experience level, and musical preferences. Beginners typically start with a combination of the Suzuki Method and the Piano Adventures series, progressing seamlessly into the Royal Conservatory of Music grade system. Students who opt for RCM examinations consistently achieve outstanding results, scoring in the high 80s and low 90s.
In addition to classical training, Isaac specialises in teaching jazz piano, particularly for beginners and intermediate players. His lessons offer a comprehensive foundation in improvisation, jazz theory, and ensemble playing. He also has extensive experience preparing students for university entrance auditions, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to excel.
Isaac’s teaching philosophy is built on a supportive, student-centred approach that balances technical rigour with musical creativity. He is passionate about helping students discover their own unique musical voice, whether through mastering classical repertoire or exploring the rich world of jazz.
Studying with Isaac, you’ll receive a strong foundation in piano technique, develop your understanding of music theory, and gain the tools to express yourself confidently as a pianist. Whether your goals are academic, professional, or purely for the love of music, Isaac will guide you every step of the way.
Isaac looks forward to sharing his expertise and inspiring you on your musical journey!
