Avoid lifting the fingers unnecessarily high above the keys.
The smaller and more relaxed the movement, the easier it becomes to increase speed later.
A metronome can then be introduced gradually.
Rather than jumping immediately from a slow tempo to a fast one, increase the speed in small steps.
If tension appears or accuracy begins to deteriorate, return to the previous tempo.
Rhythmic variation can also be extremely effective.
A group of equal notes can be practised using long-short, short-long or other rhythmic combinations.

It is also worth changing articulation.
